Everyone Was Here, More or Less
2026 · 60 × 48"
Description
In Everyone Was Here, More or Less, Kevin assembles an improbable gathering of biomorphic forms across a deep plum field, where density and weight give way to gestures that seem barely held together by air. On the left, saturated passages of yellow, pink, green, and violet overlap and compress into an almost bodily structure, while on the right, lighter ribbons of turquoise, peach, and lavender hover around a sweeping black arc. Rather than conceal the drawing beneath, Kevin allows the underlying marker armature to remain visible, so that exposed lines, incomplete contours, and painted surfaces participate equally in the composition. Some forms arrive fully embodied, while others appear only as outlines, fragments, or suggestions of something still becoming. The title gives this restless assembly the character of a gathering in which everyone has arrived, though not necessarily in the same state of presence. The work becomes an emotional anatomy of fullness and fragility, where incompletion is not an absence, but another way of occupying space.
